Experiencing film and television before the development of modern video delivery and imaging is beyond the imagination of today’s younger generation. Memoirs, like the one from actor and producer Alex Hyde-White, are substantial accounts of repainting what it was like to be on screen before the turn of the century.

The original Fantastic Four film star Alex Hyde-White is happy to announce on Twitter that he will be joining the ReadersMagnet Book Confab in Tribeca, New York on October 29, 2022. He is one of the celebrities from Hollywood who find writing a good way to go beyond the camera. Hyde-White is an actor and producer who signed with Universal Pictures in 1978 as one of the last “contract players” in Hollywood, in a group that included Lindsay Wagner, Andrew Stevens, Gretchen Corbett, and Sharon Gless.

An Actor by Blood

Alex is an American-British film and television actor born in London and raised in Palm Springs, California. His father, Wilfrid Hyde-White, gained international recognition for his role as Colonel Pickering in the cinematic version of the musical My Fair Lady (1964). Putting some of these early memories with his family in a book is a fulfilling achievement.

Alex Hyde-White has over 125 film and TV credits on IMDB. His film appearances include a version of Romeo and Juliet (1983), The Phantom of the Opera (1989), Pretty Woman (1990), The Fantastic Four (1994), and Catch Me If You Can (2002). He produced two independent films, Pursuit of Happiness (2001), and Three Days of Hamlet (2012). Alex has worked with many of filmdom’s biggest stars, such as Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Gere, and Dustin Hoffman, and his memoir, titled In the Volume, recalls many of those times.

A Star Through Decades

Like his late father, Alex Hyde-White is a notable actor and producer. He played the Marvel Comics Superhero Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, in the ill-fated original motion picture adaptation of Marvel’s flagship comics series The Fantastic Four in 1994. He has worked with world-renowned director Steven Spielberg in three movies: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (as Young Henry Jones, Sr.), Catch Me If You Can (as divorce lawyer Dick Kesner), and The Adventures of Tintin (as the Covent Garden stallholder).

This year, Alex played the role of commercial producer Grizz in an American neo-Western science fiction horror film, NOPE. He also played the Doctor in Netflix’s hit Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. In addition to continuing to act in films and TV, Alex is a highly sought narrator and producer of Audiobooks through his production group Punch Audio, since winning the Audible New Narrator of the Year Awards in 2011.

An Author by Destiny

Together with other authors, Alex Hyde-White is one of the high-profile guests who will be reading excerpts from his book in a pop-up event organized by ReadersMagnet in New York this month. Photos and videos of the book fair will be shared or even go live on RM’s social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

In his book, Alex writes, “Never having been a writer, in the Hollywood sense of a dedicated, disciplined working writer, I knew I could ‘collaborate’ quite well and, also, fancied myself a good producer – witness the two-indie films we produced, Pursuit of Happiness and Three Days of Hamlet.” ” Nonetheless,” he further asserted, ” I knew I had these stories in me.”

While busy with his Punch Audio Production, Hyde-White wrote his first book “In the Volume: My Life in Film and TV.” It is a memoir narrating his colorful life experiences as a celebrated film actor and producer. It uncovers the author’s majestic, magical, wondrous, and fulfilling journey. These intimate tales of triumph and failure offer both caution and inspiration.
