The Book Confab is a book conference for indie authors created by ReadersMagnet (RM). Started in Tribeca last year and followed by San Francisco last April, the original creation of RM is going home to the Birthplace of California: San Diego.
San Diego Book Confab will be the third installment of the successful #BookTok and Open Mic sessions of ReadersMagnet. From the Golden State to the City in Motion, the gathering of book enthusiasts will continue to grow and empower new and veteran self-published authors. This most-awaited event happens at 655 West Broadway, San Diego, on August 19 to 20, 2023. It will simultaneously take place with The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books (August 19, 2023).

From San Francisco to San Diego
San Francisco, tagged as the Manhattan of California, offered a productive and intensively engaged #BookTok conference last April. Attending authors had the chance to speak for 30 minutes to introduce themselves, talk about their self-publishing experiences, and read excerpts from their books. Indeed, the Golden State provided golden opportunities for the author branding and book marketing of indie authors who attended the gathering.
This August, America’s Finest City—San Diego—is waving for another episode of #BookTok and Facebook Live sessions. Set to happen in downtown San Diego, the third RM Book Confab finds a place at the sleek and sophisticated conference space of iQ SmartCenter. The location provides a perfect environment for self-published authors to establish authority, especially in the world of business.

From Cush Plaza to West Broadway

From the Confab to the Festival of Books
San Diego Book Confab will simultaneously happen with The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books (SDUTFOB). Since the event at the University of San Diego (USD) is only for a day, we make sure to hype the opportunities for authors to get more exposure. The RM Book Confab was created to complement the festival of books.
As one of the sponsors of the SDUTFOB 2023, ReadersMagnet is more than honored to bring new book titles to one of the top universities in the Birthplace of California. The Book Confab, which starts on August 19 and ends on August 20, will uplift the August 19 book fair at USD.
