Turning Pages into Connections: ReadersMagnet’s Post-Event Highlights at L.A. Book Confab

The LA Book Confab 2026 emerged once again as a vibrant celebration of storytelling, imagination, and human connection. Held on April 15–16, 2026, at the elegant Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, the two-day literary gathering transformed the venue into a dynamic space where authors and readers met not as strangers, but as co-explorers of narrative worlds.
From memoirs to mysteries, inspirational works to cultural reflections, the event brought together some of the most compelling voices in contemporary independent publishing. It was more than a book fair—it was a living archive of stories, each one shaped by lived experience, creative vision, and the courage to be heard.

A Stage for Independent Voices
Organized by ReadersMagnet, the LA Book Confab is built on a simple yet powerful mission: to give authors a platform where their stories can be seen, heard, and experienced directly by the public. Each featured author is given a dedicated 30-minute spotlight to present their book, share their inspiration, and connect with readers in an intimate setting.
This structure allows storytelling to unfold at a human pace. Instead of rushed promotions or distant marketing, authors engage in meaningful conversations that reveal the heart behind their work. Readers, in turn, are invited into those creative journeys—discovering not just books, but the people who wrote them.
Featured Authors and Their Stories

The 2026 lineup showcased a rich and diverse selection of authors, each bringing a unique perspective and voice to the stage:
Featured Books

During the event, Terry Iwanski, author of The Headhunter’s Granddaughter, brought along his beloved wife, Pedo, the main character of his book. Author Beth Watter also brought her son, Nick, who is the inspiration for her book Champions, We Are.
Each presentation reflected a distinct literary voice—some deeply personal, others imaginative or investigative—but all grounded in a shared commitment to storytelling as a form of connection and expression.
A Community Built Around Storytelling
The LA Book Confab fosters a community centered on storytelling, ensuring every author has the opportunity to share their voice and reach a wider audience. Independent authors engage directly with readers, discussing their creative processes and personal inspirations, creating an authentic and supportive environment where storytelling feels personal and alive.

The event also embraces inclusivity by welcoming non-ReadersMagnet authors, strengthening its role as a diverse literary hub for both in-person and online audiences.
Open Mic Session: New Voices Take the Stage
The Open Mic Session at the LA Book Confab gave visiting and emerging authors a platform to present their books and share their creative work for brief presentations. Each participant had 10 minutes followed by a short Q&A, allowing for direct audience engagement. Despite the limited time, the session was impactful, offering visibility to new writers and creating a space for spontaneous storytelling and fresh literary discoveries.
Book Displays and Interactive Discovery

The exhibition space at the LA Book Confab was equally engaging. Rows of curated book displays allowed attendees to browse fiction and nonfiction titles at their own pace. Each featured book included QR codes that enabled visitors to scan and instantly purchase copies.
This seamless integration of physical and digital experiences made book discovery more accessible than ever. Readers could engage with stories on the spot, bridging the gap between curiosity and connection.
Book Plugs and Global Reach
Beyond the physical event, ReadersMagnet ensured that the LA Book Confab extended into the digital world. Through live streaming and Book Shout-outs, authors gained global visibility, reaching audiences far beyond Los Angeles.

RM Hive host Britney played a key role in promoting featured books, bringing energy and personality to the Book Plug segments. Her efforts helped connect shelf displays to online viewers, ensuring that each author’s work had the opportunity to resonate across platforms and borders.
Cultural Highlights: BWA Magazine and LeShae Collections
The 2026 Confab also featured meaningful collaborations with cultural and creative brands that enriched the event’s narrative landscapes.
BWA Magazine, led by CEO and Founder Paulette Henson, continues to amplify the voices of Black women authors. The platform celebrates literary excellence by showcasing stories of identity, heritage, resilience, and empowerment. Through interviews, essays, and curated features, BWA Magazine highlights the cultural and generational impact of Black women in literature, ensuring their voices are both seen and celebrated.
Alongside it, LeShae Collections, founded by Latrice L. Washington—also author of Remembering Love—presented a unique fusion of storytelling and lifestyle. Built on the pillars of Creative Expression, Purposeful Style, and Conscious Living, the brand transforms storytelling into wearable and functional art through ethically crafted vegan leather accessories. It represents a philosophy in which stories are not only read but also lived, expressed, and carried into everyday life.
A Moment of Recognition and Gratitude
A meaningful highlight of the LA Book Confab 2026 was the presentation of plaques to featured authors. This gesture symbolized appreciation for their creativity, dedication, and contribution to the literary community. It served as a reminder that behind every book is not only a story, but also the effort, persistence, and imagination of its creator.

A Celebration That Continues Beyond the Event
As the LA Book Confab 2026 came to a close, what remained was more than memories of presentations or book displays. It was the echo of conversations, the spark of new connections, and the shared belief that storytelling matters.
In bringing together authors, readers, cultural voices, and creative platforms, ReadersMagnet once again demonstrated the power of community-driven literary celebration. The event reaffirmed a timeless truth: stories are not just told—they are experienced, shared, and carried forward.
And in that shared space between writer and reader, the magic of literature continues to unfold.
