Pull out your tuxedos and finest ball gowns from the depths of your wardrobe! ReadersMagnet will be hosting a special night of celebration, albeit online, for storytellers.
Following on from the success of the first season of its first-ever online book festival, The Festival Of Storytellers (TFOS), ReadersMagnet announced another first: a virtual formal awards event. The self-publishing and book marketing company has announced it will hold The Storyteller’s Quill Awards Friday, August 20th, 2021 at 7:00 pm EST.
The Storyteller’s Quill Awards is a virtual authors awards ceremony to honor the authors and exhibitors that delivered the absolute best experience for fairgoers at The Festival Of Storytellers (TFOS), which took place early in the second quarter of 2021.
The virtual-only TFOS Season One was held in partnership with Boot Camp Digital, Orange Digital Technologies, and Book Aid International and featured best-selling author and global speaker Krista Neher, Emmy Award winner and business and motivational speaker Kate Delaney, and work-life integration researcher and motivational speaker Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith as keynote speakers. A number of authors added to the author-centric vibe of TFOS by becoming panel moderators.
ReadersMagnet owes the success of TFOS Season One to the authors, moderators, and exhibitors who participated in the inaugural online book festival. So, to appreciate and celebrate their efforts and contributions, the company initiates The Storyteller’s Quill Awards, which will be a virtual tuxedo and gown affair.
The Storyteller’s Quill Awards will give out trophies in the following categories:
- The Golden Quill. This major award is given to the author who wins an award in all three categories: Fairgoers’ Choice, Authors’ Choice, and Publisher’s Choice.
- Outstanding Author’s League Award. This award is presented to the most collaborative and supportive author-exhibitor. The author-exhibitors and moderator nominate their choices for the award, and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
- The Authors’ Advocate Award. The award is given to the most favorite Author-Moderator or Keynote Speaker at TFOS Season One. The authors nominate their choices for the award, and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
- Author of the Season Award. The award is presented to the Author-Exhibitor who is considered the ‘Best Storyteller’ by his/her fellow author-exhibitors. Author-exhibitors, moderators, and fairgoers nominate their choices for the award, and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
- Most Visited Booth Award. The award is presented to the author whose booth had recorded the highest number of visits throughout the entire duration of TFOS. The winner will be determined by statistics kept by the organizers.
- Most Interactive Exhibitor Award. This award is presented to the most engaging author-exhibitor throughout the duration of TFOS. Nominees will be shortlisted by the organizers, and the winner will be determined by the combination of votes from the fairgoers and statistics for booth chats and visits kept by the organizers.
- Fairgoers’ Favorite Award. The award is given to the author who had the most impact on the fairgoers. Fairgoers nominate their choices for the award, and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
- Best Independent Book – Fiction. The award is presented to the author whose book is adjudged the best by a panel of judges assembled by the organizers. The award is open to authors who participated in and signed up their fictions book/s for TFOS, and the winning work will be determined by the panel of judges.
- Best Independent Book – Non-Fiction. The award is presented to the author whose book is adjudged the best by a panel of judges by the organizers. The award is open to authors who participated in and signed up their non-fiction book/s for TFOS. No nominations are necessary as a shortlist of qualified works of fiction and the winning work will be determined by the panel of judges.
- Best International Book. The award is presented to the author of the book, fiction or non-fiction, with the highest international sales recorded outside the U.S. within and throughout the duration of TFOS. No nominations are necessary as a shortlist of qualified works and the winning work will be determined by the panel of judges.
ReadersMagnet intends The Storyteller’s Quill Awards to be more than just a mere follow-up to The Festival Of Storytellers, but a culture to celebrate both aspiring and veteran authors who are fulfilling their writing and publishing dreams.
ReadersMagnet invites all the registrants of TFOS Season One to an evening of sparkle, glamour, and all things literature.

May I have some more information on how I can “throw my hat into the ring”? It would be nice to have some attention given to my two children’s books “Granny Mouse Ears” and “Granny’s Trilogy”.
Thank you!
