Book festivals are heaven on earth for book lovers. This is especially true for events assembled at the heart of historical sites in the literary world, like Printers Row in Chicago. ReadersMagnet is delighted to bring self-published authors to one of the biggest book fairs in the Midwest.

The Printers Row Lit Fest is holding its 38th annual on September 9 to 10, 2023. Formerly called Printers Row Book Fair, the said literary festival was renamed to its current title after it was purchased by the Chicago Tribune. Since 2002, the book fair has expanded to five city blocks, 200 booksellers, and more than 200 featured authors. The festival returned to its founder, the Near South Planning Board (NSPB), in 2019. Attending the event with ReadersMagnet (RM), one of the sponsors of the event and a finalist of the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics 2022, would be a decision you won’t let go out the window.

The Midwest’s Largest Book Fair

The Printers Row Lit Fest website considered the event the largest free outdoor literary showcase in the Midwest. It was Publishers Weekly that first to call the event the Midwest’s largest book festival. The event reached more than 150,000 in 2010 and expects to reach the same number or at least a hundred thousand this year.

Located in Chicago, Illinois, the largest book fair in the American Midwest usually attracts around 200 participating authors and 200 booksellers. As big as the tent at the LA Times Festival of Books, ReadersMagnet also anticipates bringing featured authors. Aside from displaying more than a hundred new book titles, RM will facilitate book signings and livestreaming sessions.

The Epicenter of Printing in the Midwest

Printers Row was a home for renowned publishing and printing houses in the late 19th century. For this reason, DraperAndKramer.com tagged the place as “the epicenter of printing in the Midwest” and “mecca of printing and bookbinding.” It’s indeed a perfect venue for book events, not only in the Midwest but also in the United States at large.

The place, also known as the Printing House Row District, is recognized as a National Historic Landmark District. One of the remnants of the glorious printing years is the Franklin building at 720 S. Dearborn. The structure features a mural of the Gutenberg Bible with tiles of bookbinders and printers on the building’s facade.

A Finalist of the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics 2022

With the impressive literary background of the Printers Row Lit Fest, ReadersMagnet is proud to be one of the sponsors at the event. RM is one of the finalists of the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics 2022 in San Diego, California. The company received such recognition due to its commitment to the success of self-published authors by sharing their stories with the world.

ReadersMagnet will display over a hundred books, facilitate book signings, feature indie authors, and more. The agency is honored to showcase new and veteran self-published authors in one of the most significant literary events in the country. Our presence at the Printers Row Lit Fest proves our dedication to exposing indie authors to new and larger audiences.
