ReadersMagnet continues its commitment to representing authors on the bigger stage via the recently concluded American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition held last June 23 to 28 in Washington, DC.

The American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition is officially back to its in-person setup. After two years of holding the event virtually due to the pandemic, the oldest and largest library association in the world finally decided to hold the annual book fair in Washington D.C. last June 23-28, 2022. ReadersMagnet took part in another milestone and joined the five-day that saw the gathering of librarians, educators, authors, publishers, book lovers, and other personalities from the publishing industry.

ALA returns to physical book fair after two years of virtual setup due to Covid-19.

The yearly event showcases products and services that will improve library services and support librarians’ career development. Each year, more than 900 vendors display new services, technologies, books, and products in the world’s largest library-focused exhibition. The ALA Annual Exhibition is an excellent opportunity for authors to share their books in front of the library marketplace. Now in its 146th year, the American Library Association also continues to present new features and programs for the benefit of authors, booklovers, and librarians worldwide.

The 2022 ALA Annual Conference and Exhibition featured a powerful lineup of speakers headed by ALA President Patricia “Patty” Wong, Dr. Carla Hayden from the Librarian of Congress, and Pulitzer Prize winning-journalist Maria Hinojosa. Famous actor and author John Cho, New York Times bestselling author/illustrator Grace Lin, and New York Times bestselling author, short story writer, television producer, and screenwriter R.L. Stine also graced the occasion.

ReadersMagnet flew to Washington to represent 133 powerful and award-winning titles and organized a book signing event at the world’s biggest stage for libraries, librarians, and book lovers.

This was not the first time ReadersMagnet participated in the annual ALA event. ALA is the third international in-person book fair that ReaderMagnet participated in this year.

This year’s American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition hosted ReadersMagnet as one of its exhibitors from June 24 to June 27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. Booth 1147 welcomed hundreds of guests, tourists, and book lovers during the four-day engagement. Eight of our remarkable authors also graced the booth and conducted a scheduled book signing session where fans got the chance to interact with their favorite authors. Hundreds of visitors took their time to check out our book display. Some were lucky enough to have their photos taken along with their favorite authors.

During the event, ReadersMagnet launched the Scavenger’s Hunt. Booth visitors were given a chance to win a brand new Kindle.

The in-person book event also brought together online, and offline platforms and further expanded the vast opportunities for new and aspiring authors and already established ones. The various programs and presentations, such as Book Buzz Theater, Diversity in Publishing Stage, Graphic Novel/Gaming Stage, and a single-area presentation for specific genres, provide fresh learning and encounters for all participants.

Overall, ReadersMagnet’s 2022 American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition experience were unforgettable. It was a welcoming experience not only for our authors but also for our team. Finally, after two years of holding the event virtually, ALA officially made its physical return to the community. With ALA 2022 in the bag, ReadersMagnet hopes to win more authors and expand our book display collection and book signing event next year.
