Description

The influence of 1969 goes beyond that of the Moon Landing, the Vietnam war and the start of the Internet. Little known events and people stories like Steven Jobs in high school, Hillary Clinton's college graduation speech, and Donald Trump's draft lottery number are just a sampling of what's found in Upon the Moon and Woodstock. It is a book of facts but the history, humor, and events are like seeds cultivated in 1969 that led to growth and change. Innovations, inventions and the epic music legacy of Woodstock tell the story of this year in comprehensive fashion.

Jeanie Bryson Clemmens

“Though I never thought I was born to write, I’ve always enjoyed the creative outlet involved. I was a mathematics teacher for sixteen years. It’s a more rigid discipline however teaching often allows creativity in instruction or presentation. After retiring, writing surfaced naturally and flowed freely. I wrote my first book, Jigsaw in a month later followed by eight more in about ten years. In addition, I wrote short stories for contest entries. My favorite was “”Chocolate at the End of the Day””, a comparison of a factory worker’s day to Kate Middleton’s life. (She wasn’t Queen yet). I like being involved in mystery writing primarily. That’s what I read too and enjoy, Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Rex Stout, and many others. Almost half of my books are in the Lieutenant James series with him as a competent though unusual detective. I encourage everyone to write. It really is harder to not write once you get an idea that it is to go ahead and try it.”
