Beverly lives in Pella, Iowa with husband, Don. She is retired and volunteers in community events that keep her busy. She’s been actively involved with community theater for almost 40 years performing and directing in 50+ productions. She has written several plays and skits and seen them brought to life on stage. Her love of theater encouraged her to organize a children’s drama group at church than ran for eleven years. Beverly says “It is a joy to see young actors grow up to become confident, outstanding young adults”. For thirty years she has performed a one-woman show entitled The Reluctant Pioneer written by her dear friend Muriel Kooi. It is the story of Mareah Scholte, the wife of Dominie Hendrik Pieter Scholte, the founder of Pella, who came to America from the Netherlands for religious freedom. Tour groups, women’s groups, church groups, bank club groups, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs have enjoyed this historical piece. Performances for tourists at the Annual Tulip Festival in the historic Pella Opera House have been especially important for Beverly to share about her community. Beverly loves writing and hopes to continue with more stories. Watch for Part 2 – Apartment 5B coming soon.

Margaret Thorne –
I have just finished reading the Julie Avery Mystery Trilogy. I enjoyed the story plot, and the series of events that occurred throughout each of the three books. My interest was certain maintained in getting to the finishing line. I liked the suspense during the finale, as the outcome for me was completely unexpected. The trilogy was easy to read with its blend of romance, mystery, intrigue, and suspense and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I imagine that there are many readers out there who would be interested in reading this trilogy as it is not a heavy read, is entertaining, and would provide a good escape.
