CJ Garrett presently resides in California while continuing her writing and preparing for art showings. She has lived both in Hawaii and California, inspired by the beauty and nature of both states. During her time in Hawaii she created an angelic ocean art series that included an original fantasy/adventure screenplay titled, “Sea Angels”. Also, during her time in Hawaii, she toured the islands with the Aloha Theater Company as an actress, including many other aspects of the theater behind the scenes; winning awards from local theater events for her influence in creative makeup. She loved to volunteer her time and knowledge to young children’s projects, i.e. “Youth in Theater”, teaching many artistic workshops.
In California, she lived in Big Bear Lake and ran the largest writer’s group in the San Gabriel Mountains. She worked with Log Homes Realty Company, creating artist renditions of Log Homes for contractors; all featured in “Log Home Magazine”. She also had a newspaper column for children called Dream Bunny Cares, featured in the Alpenhorn News Paper, located in Lake Arrowhead.
“Dream Bunny … A Rabbit’s Tale” and the character Dream Bunny has become her favorite of all her original works. CJ envisions children from all around the world being inspired by Dream Bunny’s message to use their imagination and have fun . . . with the final message to all is, “Always be young at heart!”
