Whenever I went to my Grandma and Grandpa's farm the first place I walked to was the grotto. As the leaves float downstream could a bug float on them like a raft? Would they take a bug to another land? When it did rain lightly the leaves did act like little umbrellas just like they did for Bugger, Anthony, Drucilla and Melvin! A favorite place to volunteer is at the Butler County History Center & Kansas Oil Museum. Anthony the Chicken needed to discover it too. The old schoolhouse, where the piano never did play very well but Anthony tries. He rode the old-fashioned merry-go-round he went inside the Landman's building, he visited Grandma's house. Anthony meets Isabel the cat at the Grocery Store. Please help him to watch out for those giant metal grasshoppers! |

Carol Turner
Carol spent a lot of time on Grandpa and Grandma’s farm. She went to school in MO and graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, MO. With a BA degree and an AA. Carol worked for over 20 years as an Early Childhood Teacher at BCC Educare Learning Lab in KS. Before that she spent many years, bartending, waitressing, volunteering and storytelling, but these are the first stories she’s written down. She is retired and lives in El Dorado, KS with her husband Wayne and her tuxedo cat “Goat”.
