ANNUAL CONVENTION

National Council Teachers of English
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Convention is one of the oldest and most respected book events in the United States.

Every November each year, more than 7,000 educators in the fields of English and language arts attend the NCTE Convention to discover new ideas and strategies; rediscover the heart of teaching literacy, language, and composition; and reawaken the spirit of inquiry as teachers, leaders, writers, readers, and thinkers.
Throughout the NCTE Convention, attendees ask bold questions, share ideas, build and renew relationships, rub shoulders with luminaries and authors, and find enough new books to fill entire shelves in classroom libraries.
The NCTE Convention features sessions, workshops, meal events, and other activities that cater to the needs and interests of teachers of all levels from elementary to college. And of course, the event would not be complete without an exhibition of the latest and greatest books and other classroom resources.
Attendees get the chance to pick up advance reading copies and get books signed by their students’ favorite authors. They can also meet publishers and talk about what’s new for the classroom and pick up text to share with colleagues.
