The Bologna Children’s Book Fair, otherwise known as La Fiera del Libro per Ragazzi di Bologna, is the leading professional fair for children’s books in the world. The fair itself is a marketplace for trading rights for publishing and translations.
The four-day book event, held annually in Bologna, Italy in March or April, serves as the meeting place for the top professionals involved in creating and publishing children’s content: authors, illustrators, graphic designers, translators, literary agents, librarian, teachers, audio-book professionals, booksellers, distributors, licensors and licensees, packagers, printers, etc.
In 2019, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair drew a total 28,946 visitors, as well as 1,442 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and regions.
