One of the Largest Book Events in the World. Attracting more than 150,000 attendees annually, the University of Southern California hosts the 2019 Los Angeles Times Book Fair. USC campus over the course of one special weekend in the spring celebrating its 33rd Anniversary!
The two-day event consists of more than 100 panel discussions and public readings participated by at least 450 authors and panelists. Book signings and outdoor performances also add to the event’s colorful and vibrant atmosphere. What makes the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books unique is their annual list of guests. Los Angeles is home to stars, celebrities, and entertainment personalities and the annual festival is never short of stars, making the annual literary event a star-studded book fair.
Free Admission. The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a free, public festival celebrating the written word. It is the largest book festival in the United States. Started in 1996, the Festival is held on the penultimate weekend, April 13-14, 2019. This is hosted by the University of Southern California, and featured vendors, authors and publishers. Some of the events are panels with authors discussing a common subject, storytelling and performances for children as well as the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Location: The USC campus is located about 2 miles southwest from Downtown and 1 mile from the intersection of the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) and the Harbor Freeway (I-110). The most convenient freeway exit is from I-110 onto Exposition Boulevard. At the end of the exit you will see the campus on the right-hand side one block down the street. Another convenient access is to exit from Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) on Vermont south to Jefferson Boulevard

Hours: Street Fair hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day

Hotel Accommodations: Authors are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses if attending the book signing event. Weather: Weather can be unpredictable. One large plastic cover will be provided for each table. ReadersMagnet will not be held responsible for damage done to books or merchandise by inclement weather. This event is held outdoors, so please check the weather forecast so you can plan accordingly. The event is held rain or shine and no refunds due to weather.

Attendees: Only one author is allowed per book signing. Authors may keep any copies of their book that remain after the signing, but these copies may not be sold at the fair.

Payment: Full payment is highly encouraged but pay-in-installments will do.

Deadline: All book fair and signing must be paid in full on or before March 13, 2019.
